Meal #1
Meal #2
| Can of tuna, whole avacado, butternut squash, baby bag of carrots, small handful of grapes. |
I ate Meal #2 around 12:30pm after I went to the gym. I sat out at a table by myself, instead of sitting at my desk and watching How I Met Your Mother, like I have been doing for months. I'm proud of myself for just doing that! Plus it was super yummy! FYI I <3 avocados!!!
Meal #3
I ate Meal #3 around 7:30pm at home at the kitchen table with my husband, and kittens close by of course. We hadn't seen each other all day so it was nice to get to chat while I cooked and then during dinner. We ALWAYS eat dinner on the couch while we watch a DVR'ed show. I'm thankful to Lee for agreeing to give up the TV for a bit so we could spend some time together :) After dinner, I still felt a little hungry, consulted with a couple of my Whole30 friend veterans, and decided to have a handful of pistachios and I was no longer hungry! (Thanks Jeff and Kendra!!!)
Exercise
I went to the gym today with my bestie, Julie! In the book, they talked about taking it easy on workouts the first week of the Whole30 so Julie and I did an easy 30 min on the treadmill (5 incline, 3.0 speed) and 15 min on the bike (random, level 10). We also did 15 min of stretching at the end.
Whole30 Day 1 - Wrap-Up
Today went pretty well! I was expecting it since it is Day 1 and everything I read says days 2-7 are the worst (I'm sure my husband is looking forward to that! ha). I was glad to get to the gym for a little bit. I was proud of myself for sticking to the guidelines. I drank PLENTY of water (I think over 80 ounces) and had one cup of coffee (before noon) and a lot of hot tea to get me through wanting to eat after dinner. I am sure it also didn't hurt that I happened to have a massage scheduled for today haha I've been trying to go once a month to take care of my body and I scheduled my April appointment on Day 30!!! I'm so excited :) All and all it was a pretty good first day!
| Oh and I stayed away from the front desk candy dish! Woot Woot! |
good job Missy! can you describe what you're eating in the meals? I can't really tell because so many things are cut up into pieces! Totally want to follow on your journey with you! Stay strong!
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for the tip to include what the actual food is. You would think that would have been obvious to me haha I added a little caption after each picture so you can see what I ate. Whenever I get more into doing recipes, I'll make sure to include a link to it. Right now I am more just throwing stuff together :) Thanks so much!
DeleteYes, please tell us what is on your plate. So hard to tell - especially when reading on the tiny phone. I'm not sure most people would consider level 5 on the treadmill "taking it easy." ;)
ReplyDeleteHi KJ! Thanks for the message :) I added captions under each picture now so I'll do that from now on. LOL I guess I should have prefaced the "taking it easy" comment on the fact that we usually do level 15 or do a lot of mixing it up or sprints hahah
