Last night I slept HORRIBLY! I am generally a good sleeper but last night I woke up constantly, tossed and turned, it was bad. Woke up wide awake at 5am for now reason but was able to get back to sleep for awhile but just no good quality sleep. So today I am TIRED. I wish I could nap! In the Day 3 email, they actually said if you need a nap take one around 2-3pm. Oh if only real life worked like that! If real life did work like that and I could take a nap at my desk I would totally want one of these...

Meal #1

Asparagus I baked last night with EVOO/Balsamic/Garlic and
I burned it (on purpose!) because I love the taste! So good!

This morning eating didn't gross me out as much as it did yesterday. It was super yummy and satisfying. It was a little weird eating salad for breakfast but I guess that is why the book really talks about naming your meals 1-3 instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner so you don't get hung up on what you should and shouldn't eat at the meal. Lee was on his way out the door when I was sitting down to eat and said that it looked really good and took a bite of my eggs and said they were yummy :)
I asked if he wanted me to get up in time to make him breakfast tomorrow and of course he didn't but I told him I would! It would be nice to eat breakfast with him instead of just having the kittens meowing at me the whole time.
Meal #2
OMG!!! My wonderful intern brought in McDonald's today. Seriously, I haven't eaten McDonald's in over four years because of their refusal to meet new industry standards on animal treatment - although I hear they might start doing some changes in the next year - and the fact that their fries used to be rolled in beef fat! YUCK! Anyway, just smelling it made me want fast food! And I don't really even eat fast food too much because it is not very pescetarian friendly.

But I put my big girl panties on and went out to make my lunch and sit at the little table in my office building alone, again. And I forgot my beautiful glass one vessel at home so I had to drink out of a stupid boring glass at the office. PS I think I can tell the "Kill All Things" phase is upon me! haha

So I start to make my lunch and got all excited because I couldn't wait to eat my avocado - have I told you how much I love avocados??? I would marry them if they would have me! Anyway, even though the little trick I saw on pinterest said it was ripe and ready to eat it definitely was not :( So I panicked about what I was going to do to have enough food to eat. I decided I would go ahead and eat the snack I brought to have before yoga tonight. So I get settled and start to eat. Then a woman in my office comes by with an avocado asking if I want it because it is ripe but she is leaving town and doesn't want it to go to waste!!! OMG!!! Best news in life!! Seriously what are the odds?? I am not making it up! There were witnesses haha It was like the havens opened up and sent an avocado down to me ... I must really have some good Karma!

It was kind of weird to eat a snack after not snacking for two days. I decided to have a snack because the book said if you're going to participate in high impact training or a long duration activity to eat a snack 15-75 minutes before hand. I wasn't too hungry but I went ahead and ate the snack because I was going to my 90 minute hot vinyasa flow yoga class and I didn't want to not have enough energy to keep up. Plus I ate lunch around 1:30 pm and wouldn't be able to eat dinner until almost 8:00 pm and the book recommends spacing your meals 4-5 hours apart. I was already pretty low on energy so I decided during my snack that I would not push myself too hard in class tonight, like the book suggests.

I didn't get home until 7:30 pm because of yoga so I threw some salmon in the oven and had dinner on the table with leftovers as sides within 25 minutes. Not too bad! Lee had already eaten pizza so he just talked to me while I ate. I was so glad to get to eat after yoga! Even though I ate so much food (as the picture shows) I still didn't feel STUFFED but I definitely felt satisfied. It has honestly been weird to not feel stuffed the last few days. I almost always eat to feeling stuffed at least one meal a day. I hope this change alone will stick after the 30 days!

I definitely was not as strong as I usually am in class. I honored my body and just took out some of the flow, going straight to downdog and taking out the chaturangas and updogs. That helped a lot. After class, Lisa took my picture doing the pose Wild Thing for the Day 6 #madaboutyoga challenge on Instagram, which we actually did in class that night too. I don't think these are as good as would be if I would have taken them before 90 minutes of flow haha but here you go :)
Whole30 Day 3 - Wrap-Up
Today as a whole went OK. I was tired and had a slight headache most of the day but other than that it was good. I wasn't really overly hungry at any point today. I am glad I went ahead and ate the snack before yoga because I don't think I would have made it because I didn't get to eat dinner until almost 8:00 pm. I'm actually kind of surprised the last two days were not worse than they were but maybe it is coming?? Who knows, but I'll keep you all updated :)
